St. Francis history dates back to 1930 when the Archdeacon Low built the first chapel in Windy Ridge road just up the hill from Karen shopping Centre.

The Karen church building was consecrated in 1952 by The Rt. Rev. Reginald P. Crabbe, Lord Bishop of Mombasa.

St. Francis is a fast growing church and during the decade of 1980 daughter churches were started i.e. St. Mathews Langata and Christ the King Ngando. It has developed steadily and currently having a computer school and many more services on Sundays. They have an advanced plan to build a new Sanctuary with a sitting capacity of 1500 people.
